Privacy Policy

This page explains what information we handle when you use the StreamMaster Shield website and customer portal, and why. It covers the public site at streammaster.co.uk/shield, the license dashboard you reach from it, and the sales and support enquiries we receive.
It does not cover the traffic that flows through your own Shield node. That runs on your infrastructure and your servers, so how you handle that data is yours to decide. This policy is about the service itself.
What we collect
Contact details. Your name, email address and company name when you request a license, ask about an Enterprise plan, or get in touch with support.
Account and configuration data. Your license key, install token, and the domains and origin server addresses you add in the portal. We need these for the node to know which traffic belongs to you and where to send it.
Usage statistics. The figures shown in your dashboard — request counts, block rates, and blocked IP addresses with their block reason. A protection service has to know what it stopped, and this data is what makes the dashboard useful. It is tied to your account and is not shared with other customers.
Payment information. Payments are taken by PayPal. We receive PayPal's confirmation that a payment succeeded and which plan it related to. We do not see or store your card details.
Why we keep it, and for how long
We keep account and configuration data for as long as your account is active, because deleting it would break the service. If you cancel, we remove or anonymise it within 30 days, apart from anything we are legally required to hold — for example, records we need to keep under UK tax law for the usual accounting period.
Who we share it with
Nobody who doesn't need it. We do not sell information about our customers to anyone. The companies we do share with are: PayPal, to take payments; and the hosting and DNS providers that let us run the site and the portal. Each works with us under contract and uses your data only to provide the service. We will also share information if a court or regulator requires it, which we hope never happens.
Security
Everything is served over HTTPS. Access to the portal and admin side is restricted, and we treat license keys like passwords — if you think one has leaked, tell us and we will rotate it. We are based in the UK and apply UK data protection rules to everything we do.
Cookies and browser storage
We use your browser's local storage to remember your portal session, so you do not have to re-enter your license key every time you look at your dashboard. There is nothing else — no ad trackers, no analytics scripts following you around. The pages do load fonts and icons from CDNs (Google Fonts, Cloudflare's Font Awesome CDN, and the like), so those CDNs see your IP address when the page loads, as is normal for most sites; you can block those domains in your browser if you prefer.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to see the data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, and take a copy of it with you. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you feel we have not handled your data properly.
The honest caveat: delete the account data and the license stops working — there is no way to run a per-server license without the license record. We will always talk it through with you before doing anything.
Contact
Questions, requests, or complaints about any of this can go to sales@9genmedia.co.site. We aim to reply as quickly as we can — usually within a couple of working days.
